I. Principal\x92s Office Report \x96 Ya-Tzu Chen & Eric Yang

v     Principal report

o       This school year the total student count was 438 and total class count was 29.

o       Carnival would be held on 12/12/2009.

o       Academic Contest would be held on 1/30/2010.

o       Chinese New Year Celebration would be held on 2/6/2010.

o       88 Typhoon Disaster Fund, $200 total, was sent to Taipei Economic and Cultural Office.

o       Class Pictures were on sale in front of the office, $5 each.

v     Vice Principal report

o       $30 fine would be held against classes for any missing assignments.

o       School staffs were excused from regular class assignments.

o       The position of Assistant Principal was still open. We need your participation to join

us.

 

II. Academic Department Report \x96 Agnes Mak

v     Academic Contest

o       All registration forms would be collected by Class Representatives and returned to the office by 11/21/2009

o       Individual notices would be sent out to participants on 12/12/2009. Please notify Academic Department for errors and changes

o       Contest Date/Time was 1:30 PM, 1/30/2010\xA0 (Sign in 1:20 PM)

o       Contest Rules, Speech topics, Read Aloud scripts and Brush Calligraphy rules were posted on school\x92s website, www.sanjosechineseschool.org.

o      

v     Credit Transfer

o       Policies and procedures were posted on school\x92s website. This was for 9th to 12th grade students only.

 

 

o       Application form would be posted on 1/9/2010.

 

 

o       Students that did not meet attendance requirements could request for make up classes (5 classes maximum). The classes would be held between 3/6/2010 \x96 4/3/2010, 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

v     Classroom Teaching Observation

 

o       This was our second year of the observation program.

 

 

 

 

 

o       Team Members were Ya-tzu Chen, Eric Yang, Hway-jen Chen, Amy Critzer, Meei Meei Lee, Hui Jia, Agnes Mak and Lusanna Lam.

 

 

o       Two Observers would be observing the class for a minimum of 10 minutes with a standardized

o       \xA0observation form at least once a year for each class.\xA0\xA0

 

III. Discipline Department Report \x96 Tim Chen

v     As of the weekly patrol, a $30 fine per head count to the class for missing assignments would be enforced.\xA0

v     The first two rows of parking lot were reserved for teachers.\xA0 Parents should not park at that area.

v     When drop off and pick up, parents should move to the front as much as possible to avoid from causing traffic jam.\xA0

 

IV. Operations Department Report \x96 Baozhen Xu

v     Carnival would be held on 12/12/2009. The board members and associate board members of the following classes, 25B, 26A, 31A, 31B, CSLK and CSL5, were the committees of this event, and should come to help set up at 9:00 AM on that day.

 

V. IT Department Report \x96 Roger Lo

v     All school parents\x92 email addresses were entered in the database. IT would inform parents about school\x92s big events through email.

v     For parents who wanted to update their email address, please email to it@sanjosechineseschool.org

v     School would not distribute printed survey to parents any more for cutting the school\x92s cost. Instead, internet Questionnaires/Surveys would be conducted online through www.sanjosechineseschool.org

v     Future notices would be posted on the website and Board Members and Class Representatives would be informed through emails.\xA0

 

VI. Scrip Report \x96 Eric Yang

v     Parents are encouraged to purchase cash card to benefit school as well as themselves. The stores would give 6% discount to San Jose Chinese School.\xA0 2.5% went to parents who purchased the cash card and 3.5% went to School.\xA0

v     Scrip cash card could be purchased in front of the Office.\xA0
